Ahunan Power, Inc., a joint venture of Prime Infrastructure Capital Inc. and JBD Water Power, Inc., is engaged in the development of hydroelectric power plants and related facilities. It is currently developing the Pakil Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Power Project which will have an installed capacity of 1,400 megawatts.
Expected to be among the largest pumped storage hydroelectric power plants in Asia, the project located in Pakil, Laguna is critical to the Philippines’ transition towards a clean energy future. The project integrates variable renewable energy to provide mid-merit energy during peak periods and address ancillary services requirements of the national system grid.
Total annual generation capacity from the Pakil Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Power Project is estimated to supply over 2.3 million households and displace approximately 3.1 million tons of coal per year.
Ahunan’s project is covered by a Hydropower Service Contract granted by the Department of Energy in 2021, and Environmental Compliance Certificate issued by the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources on March 2023.

October 07, 2022: More than 500 Pakil residents, mostly children, senior citizens, pregnant women, and persons with disabilities, were able to avail of free medical assistance and other health services during a medical mission led by Ahunan Power.

August 10, 2022: As part of its development agenda for Pakil in Laguna, Ahunan Power launched a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program dubbed “Tayo Na Pakil,” a celebration of what the future holds for the municipality.

January 18, 2022: Ahunan Power’s Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Power Project is a 1400 Megawatt (MW) Pumped Storage Hydro Electric Power Plant (PS-HEPP) that’s being developed for both ancillary service and the energy supply markets.
