Prime Waste Solutions (PWS) Cebu, in partnership with the Prime Infra Foundation, provided free dental care services to residents of Barangay Binaliw as part of its commitment to promoting community health and well-being.

With the theme “Tabang ug pag-amuma, alang sa himsog nga mga komunidad” (Help and Care for Healthy Communities), the activity addressed long-standing oral health concerns identified in previous community consultations. It provided a range of free dental services including tooth extractions, oral prophylaxis, fluoride applications, and consultations.

Held on May 24 at the Binaliw gymnasium, the 2025 Community Dental Mission mobilized medical professionals, and volunteers from partner institutions Southwestern University PHINMA, PHINMA Foundation, and the SWU PHINMA College of Dentistry, Optometry and School of Medicine.

Some 250 residents, primarily students and members of low-income families, benefitted from tooth extractions, oral cleanings, and fluoride applications during the full-day dental mission, conducted in partnership with barangay health workers.

Beyond treatment, the dental mission also addressed preventive oral health education. Oral health awareness talks were conducted throughout the day to reinforce proper oral hygiene practices among both children and adults. Participants also received kits containing toothbrushes, toothpaste, and mouthwash.

Alongside the dental mission, PWS Cebu and Prime Infra Foundation also distributed prescription eyeglasses to residents who have been previously assessed and screened.

The dental mission continues PWS Cebu and Prime Infra Foundation’s efforts to improve community health, following a successful medical mission conducted in Binaliw last year. These health programs are part of their holistic approach to community development, which also includes education-focused initiatives like the Adopt-a-School program and active participation in the annual Brigada Eskwela.
