In partnership with the Rizal provincial government, WawaJVCo Inc. continues to support its host communities through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects that respond to the needs of key stakeholders.
Rizal Governor Nina Ricci Ynares and WawaJVCo President Melvin John Tan led on April 11 the turnover ceremony for the educational equipment donated to Casili Elementary School, as well as solar panels and community service vehicle provided for the Dumagat Remontado indigenous peoples (IPs) of Montalban, Rizal.
“Maraming salamat at naging instrumento kami para magbigay ng tulong sa ating mga kasamahang katutubo dito sa probinsya sa Rizal at eskwelahan ng Casili Elementary School,” said Tan.
Casili Elementary School, also a recipient of WawaJVCo’s Brigada Eskwela program, received a laptop, television, printer, generator and other school materials.
In her message, Governor Ynares highlighted the importance of education in community growth and development.
“Ang pag-angat o ang tagumpay ng isang mag-aaral ay tagumpay ng kanyang pamilya, tagumpay ng kanyang bayan at lalawigan…Kaya’t nagpapasalamat kami sa WawaJVCo na tinutulungan nila tayo. Yan naman ang saysay natin, ang magtulungan para uunlad at makabangon muli tayo,” she said.
Meanwhile, in line with the renewable energy push of the Prime Infra Group, WawaJVCo provided solar panels that will be installed in the IP Tribal Hall and covered court in Barangay Puray to minimize electricity expenses. A brand new community service vehicle was also turned over to the Dumagat Remontado IPs through their Indigenous People’s Organization (IPO).
“Ang aming Chairman, si Mr. [Enrique] Razon, hindi lang nagce-create ng critical infrastructure, kaakibat nito ang pagtulong sa host communities para maging sustainable sila,” said Prime Infra Foundation Program and Operations Head Bernadette Tan.
Mr. Eddielito Sumangil, Tanay Community Service Center Head of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Calabarzon, lauded WawaJVCo for its continued support for its project stakeholders.
“Sa lahat ng mga napuntahan kong napagserbisyuhan at mga projects, isa ang WawaJVCo sa mga responsible talagang proponent at tinutupad nila yung lahat ng mga pangako,” said Buasen.
Also present during the turnover ceremony held at the Rizal Provincial Capitol were Vice Governor Reynaldo San Juan, IPO Montalban President Narciso San Jose and Casili Elementary School Principal Dr. Agnes Carmona.
WawaJVCo is the developer and operator of the Wawa Bulk Water Supply Project in Rizal province designed to deliver a reliable water supply of at least 518 million liters per day (MLD) to Manila Water and the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System.
